What is the Good News?
If heaven does exist, do you think that you are righteous enough to enter it?The truth is, none of us are. Every one of us is guilty of sin and short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
To bridge the gap to the perfect God, God sent us His only son – Jesus (John 3:16). Both fully man and fully God, Jesus came into this world and lived a life that we could never live. Completely sinless, He was crucified on the cross (Romans 5:8), paying for all our sins for all time. Conquering the grave, on the third day, he rose again (John 2:19), eternally triumphant over all His enemies.
By grace and through our faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8), there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy (Romans 8:1).
This, is the gospel of Jesus Christ. This, is the Good News.
